HAMILTON, OHIO -- It was an unusual event but it was on time. This was a meeting about prophecy and how it is used in the church. It was about women and one of the most powerful gifts used in the church today.

The women involved were incredible. In every session the power of their input could be felt over those who had gathered to hear. It wasn’t just another conference because you could sense and feel the great purpose of the meeting. When prophets gather you can be sure of one thing. There are about to be new works of God raised up in the land. The Word of God has always proclaimed new works to come forward and God always uses His prophets in the land.

Many ask today, how can an individual speak for God, but oracles have been sent forward to call down fire from Heaven over our land.

Dottie Schmitt and her command of the Word of God was evident. Lila Terhune called the intercessors for the opening of what God will have in the new millennium. Dianne Sloan demonstrated the power of God with a simple wash cloth and Michal Ann Goll put people in the place where they could see God. Each women had a purpose and the 600 ladies that were there came to find a new meaning from the Word of God.

DOTTIE SCHMITT - The Word of God

Dottie Schmitt was masterful with the Word of God in Hamilton, Ohio. "As you intercede in the darkness, the Lord will bring light into your darkness. Declare the word of the Lord -- His creative will, will expand your horizon." Dottie Schmitt was just right for a conference on the prophetic. She was organized and very sharp with her presentation of the Word of God as it gave great value to the work of prophecy in the body of Christ. Haggai means festive. He helped bring back the joy to a remnant by telling the people that the glory of the latter house would be greater than the former house. Very often a prophet is sent forth to convict people of their sins but at the same time he always gives a voice of hope in his message. She said the work of God requires the prophetic word. She also said people of the prophetic speak to current issues that are very often the judgment issues of a nation. It is up to the people of God to speak directly to the issues.

One area that Dottie spoke on is the area of a prophet’s life that has to be guarded. Sometimes people can speak through a wounded spirit and cause great destruction. She mentioned a man of God who was a prophet that spoke over a man who had a tremendous smoking habit. He was in the back where he thought no one would ever see him. When the prophet went back to speak over him, he spoke in a way that gave him grace and honor. The prophet of God did not call him out to judge him but he spoke to the destiny that was before the man. God could see where the man was going and didn’t judge the sins of the present, and that’s how God sees most people -- God sees people in their destiny and not where they are now.

Dottie said that everyone is a mentor of someone else, we very often learn from the people we follow, and in turn it becomes our duty to raise up those who need to learn and need to know.

Dianne Sloan - Prophetic Actions

One of the most profound segments of the entire session on prophecy was the demonstration of the prophetic work though the acts that were displayed before Jesus. Dianne Sloan demonstrated the power of servanthood as she wrapped a towel around her waste and began to wash the feet of those in service on the stage. As she knelt to wash feet, towels were passed out to all the women gathered at the conference. A spontaneous flow of the power of God fell over the large crowd as women began to weep in the spirit all over the huge auditorium. If there was a God moment in the entire conference it was at this time. The Holy Spirit demonstrated the power of being a servant by kissing this part of the conference with His awesome presence. Sloan quoted John 13: 4-5 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

Lila Terhune - The Word Defined In Revelation

Lila Terhune on Thursday night spoke about the main thrust of prophetic utterance. The revelation of God is always moving in many ways. That is why they lived in tents in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament things were always in movement and God spoke to His people through people like Moses, many lived in tents as they moved on to the next place where God had directed them, and the spirit of prophecy often spoke through the leadership in the same way. Moses spoke about one to come who would be greater than him (Jesus). Deuteronomy 18:15-16 The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. The person about whom he was speaking was Jesus. Again in Revelation 19:10 it states that Jesus is the Spirit of all prophetic utterance. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethern that have the testimony of Jesus: worship god: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Terhune explained that prophecy was absolutely essential because of what scripture says about it. It is all done by faith but the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy. The Spirit and the Word will always confirm this. ‘Terhune mentioned the two silver trumpets that were blown by the priest. The Lord spoke to Moses in Numbers 10 to make two silver trumpets and make them in a certain way. The trumpets were made of silver, beaten out of one piece of silver. Silver represented the price of a slave and the trumpets being made of one single sheet of silver meant that it was designed for unity. When they were blown they were always blown together by the Sons of Aaron in harmony. This is speaking in types and shadows. Symbolically they speak of the Spirit and the Word. One works in harmony with the other. Intercession and worship also work in harmony. These are things that bring about the revelation of God and His glory to the body of Christ. Terhune said that every true prophet that ever spoke, spoke by the Spirit of Jesus. God very often speaks to me through the word and worship. This is a way I get revelation from the Lord. Trumpets are used to sound the alarm when you are going into battle. When they are heard in unity the people move as one, and both trumpets are sounded together so it will not confuse the people in the direction that they are to go.

In Leviticus 23:23-24 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. This has not happened in the world as of yet. Leviticus 23:27-28 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls , and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

These things are parallel things from the Old Testament that marks the new time of the New Testament.

When the silver trumpet is blown it will signal an increase in the prophets to call forth new works. It will signal the year of jubilee as referred to in Leviticus 25:8-13.

God always calls for the prophets in time and in season for the work to be completed. The prophet Haggai was called forth to stir the leadership and people to finish the temple after their return from captivity. Haggai 2:5-7 According to the word that I covenanted with you when I came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not. For thus saith the Lord of hosts, Yet once, it is a little while and I will shake the heavens , and the earth and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of Host. God sent forth His prophet in time to stir and shake the people to complete the work. Lila Terhune’s input through the Old Testament signs of the Silver Trumpet proved the power of the prophet and why prophecy is necessary today.

Michal Ann Goll - How Do You See God

On Friday night Michal Ann Goll came forth with singing. She began to praise God in the prophetic tongue but what she had to share within her presentation was complimentary to the other three speakers that had gone before her.

Michal Ann Goll dealt with the subject of how we perceive God. In a small bag next to the pulpit she pulled out her object lessons of faith.

We look at Jesus in different ways. Many of us look at Him through our up bringing. God is releasing a fresh wind to see Jesus as you have never seen Him before. Michal Ann pulled out a pair of binoculars and began to look out into the audience. She said we all see Him in a different way. She then pulled out broken glasses and said sometimes we want to see Jesus with a broken glass. As she looked through her old glasses she viewed Jesus from the stand point of where she was in times past, not wanting to see Him in a different way. We think we can see because we have never had clear vision to see Him as He really is.

Michal Ann Goll put a challenge before the women when she said, "Some of you women are being called forward but you’re trying to look through a man’s vision. She said she used to walk along side of her husband and he was the minister and she never said a thing. "I was raised that way but one day God spoke to me and began to use me along side my husband."

As she pulled out a pair of sun glasses she said, "Some are trying to view God through the lens of offense. "You see all I have to do is flip these sun glasses down and I can stay in my own narrow field of understanding." The body of Christ is so much larger than we can see. Very often we take the one part with which we have trouble and cut it off.

People of the prophetic are very often flaky people. If you want to be used in this manner you had better get ready to be humiliated. Goll spoke to the women about how she was told she could not have children. Mahesh Chavda spoke to she and Jim at All Nations Church and said she was going to have children. For seven years she and Jim could not have children. Finally after that October meeting in 1982, the following January we found out that we were pregnant. Justin was the first born child but before he was born, Jim saw him in a dream. The couple became pregnant once again and Jim saw the child before she was born. He had had the vision of their second child, named Grace Ann Elizabeth. Jim saw her sitting at a piano with long black hair at six years of age. Each child was very difficult for the couple to have, causing Michal Ann Goll to go through several long periods of sickness before they were born. A person who was once told that she could not have children was stirred by the prophet who spoke into their lives. God has a way of doing things that confounds the wisdom and the knowledge of this world. Today the Goll’s have four children.

Michal Ann finished by saying that when you have the love of God in you, He will call people to you who are different. I don’t know how to do some of the things we have to learn to see Jesus with new eyes. Each of us has a different vision of who He is. If you have offense against someone you need to go to them and be healed. We must be weak so we can gain the strength of the Lord.

The one word that came forth in the conference that verified what the women were doing was the word spoken by Lila Terhune when she read the scripture found in Revelation 19:10. It states that Jesus is the Spirit of all prophetic utterance. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethern that have the testimony of Jesus: worship god: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. God honors those who work in the ministry of the prophet. This meeting was all about Jesus. Those that are called forth for this ministry walk in faith. Prophets are called and are held accountable for their actions. Many are chosen by God because of great hardship. Many are chosen through the fires of life so they can be trusted to be an oracle of God, (one who speaks with the voice of God). The combination of the four women who spoke represented years of grooming for this prophetic moment. Dottie Schmitt said we have a responsibility to mentor those that don’t know. The Hamilton Women’s conference was the beginning of that process.

Prophecy comes forth in seasons of time for the church and now is the time for the new works to come forth. Anyone who knows the time of History in which we live, knows the horizon will bring forth the glory of God, but before it comes forth the prophets of God will set the works in motion by prophecy. This was a new dimension that was introduced to the women in Hamilton, Ohio, but it was a dimension that will push them to understand their own destiny. God used these four women to bring forth a new understanding of the gift of prophecy.
